- READ IT! - Tuesday, April 11, 2006 This weekend alone I read 250 pages out of "Memoirs of a Geisha." I had been reading it for about a week before. I just had to find time..like before and after class, before bed, etc. Finally I had a Saturday all to myself where I just read the heck out of something. That book is...in one word...amazing. It's so captivating and moving. It sucks you in and you just love the culture and just EVERYTHING. What's more amazing is that it was written by a man. Kimie and I were discussing that fact that he absolutely nails a woman's emotions and feelings. It leaves you to believe he HAD to have used an actaul geisha to come up with this GREAT story. I cannot rave about this book enough. Hands down the best book I've read in a long while. (not including Harry Potter :) but that's just a different type of GOOD!) Go out to a library...wait scratch that, just go buy the book and read it, your life will be better because you did! lol. Seriously though, great book. Read it. Oh and in case you're wondering I did finally finish reading "Wicked." Also a good book, just not as good as "Memoirs." Next book to read: "Girl with a Pearl Earring"
