- 3 things on my mind - Friday, December 30, 2005

1. "I'm sending a letter to the Better Business Bureau" "I'm calling the BBB to complain" blah...blah...blah....I hear one of the 2 phrases everyday. This guy just said that because he was on our mailing list and we're annoying. Yea well he annoyed me. You know what I say? Screw 'em. I'm going to let you in on a little secret...you have to be in the BBB for something to happen when you complain. That's all I'm saying on that subject.

2. Firehouse Subs for dinner. Lord yes

3. I get to see Trey tonight

Pray I don't go crazy from the drive..."bring your nerves of steel"

- Baby It's Cold Outside...and Inside -

Not only is it cold outside but it's cold in here too. Why do people insist on keeping an office cold in the Winter. Here at this office we have to wear coats all year long...because someone is not familiar with something...that something is 75 degrees! It stays like 70 degrees in the winter and 60-65 in the summer...no wonder we have no money, we have to pay a huge electric bill. And 60 degrees? I can tell you a couple of things that could cut glass in here...even in the summer time. Anyways, some scary redneck came in my office trying to return something, you do that by mail people! And here I am alone because Kris took the day off, Scott is out to lunch, Cathy's still on vacation and James...well God only knows. And the guy said he would come back to check up on his return...when I have to get his replacement shipped out of New York and I told him I would call him...so why is he coming back? I locked the doors. haha. SO...CHARLESTON TODAY! who's excited?? I AM! I'm leaving after work to go to Charleston to see Trey. I can't wait! I really don't think we've ever seen each other 2 weekends in a row. I get to see his new condo and my favorite little kitty Cash. I need to wrap Trey's dad's birthday present up tonight. I got him a sprinkler and some traffic cones...so no one hits the sprinkler. And about this time (if you aren't familiar with the infamous sprinkler story), you might be scratching your heads. So here goes.

PART II:

It was a nice fall day in September, my parents were out of town...in Charleston that weekend actually so Stephanie went to chruch alone cause Steve called and was like, Trey came in town for a funeral, why dont you go to chruch and sit with him. (remember this is before Trey and I started dating) So I was like ok I'll go sit with the hottie and break the ice. Well I get there and he's no where to be found and I sit on my family's pew...alone...causing the church to stare at me...all service, or maybe I imagined that part. Anyways, after church Trey's peach of a mother asks me to lunch...and with Brian having eaten everything in the house since the parents were gone, I gladly accepted. It was then I learn that Trey had gone back just before church to go to Charleston and...wakeboard...*GASP*! I know, I know, he put wakeboarding before Almighty God. Sorry Trey, you know I had to put that in here, and I am kidding. So yea, he left to go wakeboarding...men have some priorities, huh? So anyways, it was an awesome lunch with his parnents, grandparents, and brother and his wife April Dixon, who if you know her is a total sweetheart. The bizare-ness of this is that I was already hanging with his family and we weren't even dating..yet. The Lord works in mysterious ways. So anyways, right when I was leaving I tried to back down the driveway. Now, two things went wrong here...
A. If you know me, this might have been a challenge from the get-go
B. If you know Trey's driveway it's a really hard driveway to back down! (so part of it was not my lousy driving)
Still, to this day I don't know the exact placement of the sprinkler, but it was in fact in my line of fire. And yes, I ran over it and squashed it dead. BUT I didn't know I did this until 3 weeks later (Trey and I are dating at this point) I went to his house for the first time...with him...and we had lunch with the whole entourage again. At this point, Ryan Trey's other brother take this time to reveal the embarassing story that I had no idea about. I'm sure I turned every shade of red and I wanted to die. Trey's sweetheart of a dad said, "It's ok I didn't like that sprinkler anyway, and it didn't work right." Which prompted Ryan to say "After Stephanie it really doesn't work" HA...HA...SO after that it has been an ongoing joke that Stephanie cannot drive because of the sprinkler. SO ANYWAYS that is the significance of the gift. Ok well for now I must get back to work because if someone doesn't input those numbers...it doesn't make much of a difference"

- Books a million - Thursday, December 29, 2005

I LOVE books, I got a lot of them for Christmas. I got "Memoirs of a Geisha", "Their Eyes were watching God", Trey got me "Mirror, Mirror", Harry Potter 3 (to complete my collection, somehow I was missing my favorite HP book!) "Girl With a Pearl Earring", and I bought myself some books (only b/c the bookstore in the mall is going out of business and everything was 40% off :) ) I got "Where the Heart Is", "Watership Down", "War of the Worlds", and "Why Do Men Have Nipples?" (it's very entertaining). I'm currently reading "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire. It's SO good! It's a completely different view of the wicked Witch of the West. It shows her as a child, then college years with her roommate...Glinda. I'm only halfway through, but it's really good, it makes you like the wicked witch of the west. All of Gregory Maguire's books take a different view on classic fairy tales told the same way over and over and over again with little details changed. He creates a new world, and an all new spin on the stories we grew up on with a little sexual humor, politics and drama. "Wicked" was his first book, I believe, He's also written "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" (a Cinderella story from the perspective of the ugly stepsister, i think and the curses Cinderella goes through being beautiful), There's "Mirror, Mirror" a Snow White story, "Son of a Witch", a sequal to "Wicked", it's about the Wicked witch of the West's son, and "Lost". To see what these books are all about go to http://www.gregorymaguire.com. You won't be sorry! Ok, sorry to advertise again today but cut me some slack, Outdoor Interactive can be very boring!

Oh and Stevie Wonder doesn't have anything to do with it except that I'm listening to "Superstition".

- Oh the sleep...and caffeine jitters -

I'm at work, bored and it's raning and thundering. I love when it rains! This sound could lull me to sleep. Speaking of sleep, boy did I get some last night! (sleep that is...you perverts) I took a shower and just crashed on my bed at like 7:45, woke up at nine, brushed the pearly whites and crashed again until this morning at like 8. I went to bed early and I was still late to work...surprise. I am so excited about my new Vera bag I bought last night. I'm taking it with me to Charleston. I got the big Miller bag in my print-Chelsea Green...my favorite color is well, green if you didn't know. I'm drinking coffee for the first time in forever, I haven't had it since Kimie and I used to go to Pendleton Cafe. We haven't been there in forever either. We both decided it was too much for christmas time...although I don't even know where Kimie is these days, what with exams and the holidays, who knows! Ok well, for now I'm getting back to my Grande Mocha Light and work. Oh and by the way, coffee might have been a bad idea...I never drink anything but water and now im all shaky from the coffee, I look like I'm on speed. (Not that I would know what that's like) but anyway, Talk to you cats later.

Yea here I am freezing at work..although I'm in my new, fabulous argyle sweater from Trey and my new chocolate brown Sperry's. I love them. So how was everyone's Christmas?? mine was great! Trey is so good at buying presents, you have no idea. I got 3 books I wanted, this argyle sweater, an argyle scarf, and the most beautiful shoes I've ever seen in my life. (the ones over there) I picked them out in Charleston at Nine West when Kimie and I went down and have been in love with them ever since. I was going to order them online this month, but no need! Anyways, Brian got me some Rolling Stones CDs, the parents got me the Sperry's, some sweaters and a book. Keavy got me a sweatshirt blanket, and a book. In case you haven't noticed, I love shoes and books! anyways, I wish I wasn't at work! I wish I was at home with Trey! :( Merry day after Christmas.
